Cut Grass Cut grass lies frail: Brief is the breath Mown stalks exhale. Long, long the death It dies in the white hours Of young-leafed June With chestnut flowers, With hedges snowlike strewn, White lilac bowed, Lost lanes of Queen Anne's lace, And that high-builded cloud Moving at summer's pace. o Waken an Old Lady Old age is a flight of small cheeping birds skimming bare trees above a snow glaze. Gaining and failing they are buffeted by a dark wind -But what? On harsh weedstalks the flock has rested -the snow is covered with broken seed husks and the wind tempered with a shrill piping of plenty. Looking at the stars, I know quit well That, for all they care, I can go to hell, But on earth indifference is the least We have to dread from man or beast. How shall we like it were stars to burn With a passion for us we could not return? If equal affection cannot be, 倘若无法产生同样的感情, Let the more loving one be me. Admirer as I think I am Of stars that do not give a damn, I cannot, now I see them, say I missed one terribly all day. Were all stars to disappear or die I should learn to look at an empty sky And feel its total dark sublime Though this might take me a little time. Hi, welcome to Faith Radio Online-Simply to relax. I’m Faith. One of my students asked me awhile ago what I was really good at. Half kidding, I responded, "Starting over!" The reason I was only HALF kidding is because I am very familiar with starting over. I've started over in business. I've started over financially and in my career. And unless you live a spectacularly1 blissful life, at some point-usually many points--in your life, you'll need to start over, too. We all do--in big things and in small. A project gets delayed or terminated2. We get laid off, downsized, right-sized or repurposed. We go off our diet or our exercise program. Hurricanes, tornadoes3, cancer, the flu--all sorts of catastrophes4 and inconveniences can thwart5 or stop our forward progress--sometimes sending us all the way back to the starting line. But you can't let it stop you. To be successful you must become and remain resilient. Hardly anything goes the way we hope or plan that it will. I'm being realistic. Setbacks, roadblocks and disappointments are just part of the natural ebb6 and flow of life. Every day is a new day. And it's a good thing because it's another opportunity to start over again every day. It matters little what's happened. But it matters a LOT what we do not.
