Employed: 35% Further study 60.7% Unemployed: 3.2% BUILDING is one of the most open of the tables because there is less correlation than in most subjects between the top performers in teaching and research. Kingston was the only university with maximum points for teaching quality, but had low entry grades and research score. Reading takes top place as one of only two universities rated internationally outstanding for research. Salford was the other, but it suffered for a low teaching score. Most of the universities offering building are former polytechnics, and this is reflected in the fact that 44 per cent of students are admitted with qualifications other than A level.
